It was intended that the

importation of spirit over proof

and loss to revenue by watering

it down should be checked by

penalising over-proof spirit.

It was decided not to

make any alteration for the

present in the duties leviable

upon intoxicating spirituous

liquors, other than native winea

and spirits under Section 3 of

Ordinance 23 of 1909 as amended by

Resolution of Legislative Council

er 2nd. December, 1909; but to re-

-consider the question towards

the end of the year,

Meantime regulations will be made for the compulsory mett/- -ing apart in Bonded Licensed Ware

-houses of separate spaces for the

storage of liquors for export,

and for the storage, breaking down

and bottling of liquors for local

consumption.

Instructions have been

given to the Government Analyst

to take notes of the strength of

(1) liquor imported (2) removed

for export from Bonded Licensed

Warehouses and (3) put into local

consumption,
